Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments, ensuring the timely processing of payroll, vendor payments, and remittance of related payroll taxes and tax filings.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
includes, but not limited to:
Oversees all hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and counseling of the Payroll and Accounts Payable staff Ensures the timely processing of payroll for multiple entities Ensures the timely payment of vendor obligations and employee T&E reimbursements, in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures Maintains the HR/Payroll, Accounts Payable and Time and Attendance System software Remits all payroll related taxes Prepares and files employment tax returns for Federal, State and Local governments Processes, distributes and files the W-2's and 1099's Troubleshoots system and pay issues Works closely with other departments and vendors to coordinate and resolve issues Secondary Duties and

Maintains confidentiality of all employee and company information Coordinates with Purchasing to ensure compliance with vendor licensing and updates to the vendor master files Maintains department policies and procedures and training manuals Performs user acceptance testing of system modifications and upgrades Complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Minimum Education and
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Three years of supervisory experience in Payroll/ Accounts Payable or five years of experience in Payroll/ Accounts Payablein a high volume organization Previous experience in preparing employer payroll tax returns, W-2 and 1099 processing and filing Competencies:
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to delegate tasks Basic understanding of the Mohegan Sun budget process Knowledge of Ascent and EmpowerTime systems Thorough knowledge of Workday/Infinium HR/Payroll, Accounts Payable and the Time and Attendance system software Intermediate computer skills in Word and Excel Basic understanding of the Mohegan Sun budget process Thorough understanding of Federal and State wage and hour laws and tip allocation Understanding of the Federal Tipped Employee Participation Agreement (TEPA) Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment Training Requirements:
Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures Must complete the Core Manager Training course Must be HIPAA certified Physical Demands and Work Environment:
