Summary:
To supervise the service of designated functions in specific areas within the banquet department and Arena as assigned.
Ensuring all BEO event needs are met or exceeded for all areas.
Managing all daily activities of server, bartender, barback, housemen hourly positions to include event assignments & execution.
Ensuring all banquet equipment and inventories are ordered and maintained, including the upkeep of all banquet areas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
Assisting the Banquet & Conventions Shift Managers in daily responsibilities Ensure strong communication with Kitchen, Stewarding, Convention Services Managers and Banquets Management Team.
Upkeep of all banquet areas to include equipment, function space and pantries.
Pre-Planning the execution of all Banquet Event Orders Managing service staff for each event and daily duties Training and development of all banquet team members.
Meet with group contact and review banquet event orders confirming timing, and requests to ensure accuracy and/or note changes.
Run and execute assigned events.
Maintains complete knowledge of and compliance with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards Maintains positive guest relations at all times Resolves guest complaints and ensures guest satisfaction Works cohesively with co-workers as part of a team Maintains confidentiality of guest information and pertinent departmental data Is an advocate of the company's Mission, Vision, and Core Values on a consistent basis Secondary Duties and

Conducts pre-shift meetings with the staff Interacts one on one with clients or contacts for groups or events Follows departmental sanitation and safety techniques Maintains a safe and sanitary work area Knowledge of food menus and ingredients Responsible for enforcing all department standard operating procedures Assists with compliance of all Fire Marshall and Health Department regulations Minimum Education and
Qualifications:
Five year of banquet supervisory experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment Thorough knowledge of state liquor laws, proper identifications procedures, shut offs and refusal of service Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook Competencies:
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of food menus and ingredients Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes and all beverage service techniques Knowledge of Ballroom, Convention Center, storeroom locations and various catering areas throughout the casino Knowledge of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy Thinks clearly, remains calm and resolves issues using good judgment Thorough knowledge of meeting space and all areas of the casino Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of all departments related to Banquets and Conventions Training Requirements:
Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures Must be able to communicate with co-workers both verbally and in writing SMART alcohol awareness Serve Safe Training Basic knowledge of Delphi System, Outlook, Stratton Warren Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
