Summary:
This position is responsible for repairing, altering and sizing all employee uniforms.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
includes but not limited to:
Measures employees to determine proper size and to ensure proper fit of uniforms Sews or reconstructs garments using needles and thread or sewing machines May press uniforms and/or clean spots from garments Secondary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assists employees at the counter and ensures accurate and timely completion of all transactions Assists in the day bag issuance and retrievals Assists in keeping the stockroom orderly Minimum Education and
Qualifications:
Two years of experience in alterations Previous seamstress or tailoring skills Competencies:
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to take and record accurate measurements and complete alterations in a timely manner Training Requirements:
Knowledge of sewing machines and the ability to make routine repairs (i.
e.
replacing needles, checking oils, etc.
) Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Office work environment Must be able to stand, sit, bend and reach for extended periods of time Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
