Summary:
This position is responsible for required tax compliance filings worldwide and for all properties in the MGE portfolio. In addition, this position is responsible for tax planning strategies and establishing tax transfer pricing policies, including intercompany charges between subsidiaries and affiliates of MGE.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
includes but not limited to:
Oversees preparation of required federal, state and local income tax returns for MGE entities Acts as point of contact for external tax accountants; evaluates and manages relationships with tax advisors and preparers Maintains a calendar for tax filings and extension deadlines Develops tax strategies for MGE and its subsidiaries Assists in the calculation of income tax provisions, where applicable Manages withholding tax payments, reconciliations and filings Monitors and updates transfer pricing policies and related documentation Provides in-house advice to support management and legal team in legal entity restructuring Works with tax legal advisors on complex, international tax planning and compliance Advise on tax implications of potential joint venture, development and acquisition opportunities Secondary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Monitors changes in tax legislation and regulations, and communicates the necessary recommendations to management Documents tax policies and procedures Provides coaching and mentorship to finance staff Ensures department policies and procedures and training manuals are maintained Enforces the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Competencies:
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Advanced understanding of transfer pricing rules Advanced analytical skills High level of familiarity with MGE's operations Effective utilization of MGE evaluation programs Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment Training Requirements:
Knowledge of MGE corporate and department policies and procedures Knowledge of financial software Ongoing training on tax policies and practices (including meeting CPA continuing education requirements as applicable) Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Minimum Education and
Qualifications:
Bachelors' Degree in Accounting or related field Seven years of tax experience at a large, global company; to include five years of experience at a manager level or above; hospitality, gaming or entertainment experience a plus Certified Public Accountant or a Masters' Degree in taxation preferred U.S. Tax Code proficient Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Strong accounting software experience Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
TaxEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
