Summary:
This position is responsible for the Company's accounting policy research, documentation and implementation of new or pending accounting standards or pronouncements for all corporate entities. Also responsible for maintenance of corporate accounting policies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
includes but not limited to:
Monitors, evaluates and communicates the effects of proposed U.S. GAAP accounting standard changes Leads the implementation of new accounting standards, develops relevant accounting policies and participates in any related committees Prepares and maintains the corporate accounting policy manual and related procedural documentation for accounting and reporting Performs required technical accounting research for either proposed or recently completed complex transactions and or agreements Prepares technical accounting memorandums documenting the required accounting for proposed transactions and or agreements Assists the Corporate Accounting team with accounting matters, as needed Assists the External Reporting team with required SEC disclosures Assists in the review of the Automated Disclosure Checklist related to the preparation of financial statements inclusive of financial statements filed with the SEC Secondary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with external and internal auditors on new accounting pronouncements and regulatory reporting requirements Influences the accounting standard setting process by preparing comment letters to the FASB and representing MTGA externally on accounting policy issues through participation in various industry groups Prepares and delivers training programs and other communications to educate the global finance and accounting teams on pending accounting changes Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with finance partners and other internal clients to understand the business and provide ongoing guidance on new initiatives Competencies:
Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Excellent planning, research and documentation skills Ability to adhere to strict accounting and reporting deadlines High-level of familiarity with the Company's operations Sound technical accounting knowledge Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment Training Requirements:
Knowledge of MTGA corporate and department policies and procedures Keeps abreast of GAAP and other authoritative guidance issued by related agencies (FASB) Keeps abreast on SEC rules and regulations Keeps up-to-date of industry trends Understanding of Ascent, EmpowerTime and Manager Self Service systems Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training courses Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Office work environment Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with strict deadlines Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
