Rehabilitation Director and Occupational TherapistGeneral PurposeProvides quality resident care to enable the resident to achieve and maintain the maximum level of functional ability while maintaining positive level of interaction with facility and resident.
QualificationsGraduate of AOTA accredited OTA school and eligible for licensure in their state of practice.
Prior long-term care experience preferred Essential Job Responsibilities Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
Assists the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
Working with OT, provides oversight and direction techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.
Residents' Rights Functions Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy.
Fosters feelings of self worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
Knows and complies with Residents' Bill of Rights.
Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RVP immediately.
